Kate Newman
Hello! I’m Kate Newman. I am married to my college sweetheart, and together we have three beautiful children. We live south of San Angelo on our family ranch, where we raise goats, chickens, and kiddos!
I have a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, where I focused primarily on reproductive physiology. I am now a student midwife at Mercy in Action College of Midwifery.
I gave birth to all three of my children at my home with a certified professional midwife. Each birth left me more empowered, more in awe of what our bodies were created to do, and more certain that every woman deserves this kind of care.
But I know that’s not most women’s story.
Too many moms I know have come out of the hospital feeling traumatized, dismissed, or confused about what even happened to them. I believe that informed consent isn’t optional, and that no woman should feel like her voice disappears the moment labor begins.
As a doula, I support you through birth and postpartum with calm, steady presence and evidence-based guidance. I’m not here to boss you around or give you one “right” way to birth. I’m here to help you trust your instincts, know your options, and feel deeply supported in the choices you make.
Whether you’re planning a birth center delivery, a homebirth, or just trying to avoid another overwhelming hospital experience, I’m here to walk with you.
You were created to do this. And you don’t have to do it alone.
